Douglas Gwilym

Stoker nominated short-story author, editor of NOVUS MONSTRUM
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Douglas Gwilym has been known to write a weird-fiction rock opera or two, and carry a uke around at StokerCon. His short story "Poppy's Poppy" was a Bram Stoker Award finalist last year. His story "Year Six" was on the longlist in 2022, and is on Ellen Datlow’s recommended reading list for Best Horror of the Year volume 14. He edited the F/SF/H annual Triangulation for four years and now co-edits The Midnight Zone—first edition, NOVUS MONSTRUM, a collection of never-before-seen monsters, featuring original stories by greats like Ramsey Campbell and Gemma Files, and new voices in strange, dark fiction. He reads classics of the proto-Weird on YouTube and has been guest staff at Alpha Young Writers workshop. His short fiction appears in LampLight, Shoreline of Infinity, Lucent Dreaming, Novel Noctule, Shelter of Daylight, Dark Horses: The Magazine of Weird Fiction, Tales from the Moonlit Path, Penumbric Speculative Fiction Magazine, Creepy podcast, and Tales to Terrify.

You can find me at the big signing on Friday at 5:15 (pick up a copy of NOVUS MONSTRUM!) and my author reading at 3 p.m. on Saturday. I'm also moderating HAUNTED BY THE TROPE: REIMAGING GHOST STORIES on Friday at 2, and taking part in BLENDING GENRES: WAVE OF THE FUTURE? on Saturday at 9 and ANCESTRY AS SOURCE: WRITING WITH DEEP AUTHENTICITY at 4 (!).
